I really meant flashback, but flashdance is what popped into my head instead. I was really, really, really tempted to rock me some fine 80’s threads and take a picture of myself under a jet of water for this post. Oh baby baby.

Now for the original mission:

Pique-Nique. Too cold for the city boy. Alas! Our adventure comes to an end.
Gritty mangoes BLAMO!

Buildin’ da fort.
That pompous lil’… I should try to sell this picture to Coleman. Ali making fun of the Diva (Jos)

July 16th 2006. The hottest day of the summer. We were already nestled in the dunes and damn it was glorious.

Vanity struck Joscelyn. His day consisted of eating, taking pictures of himself, eating, slothing, eating all the strawberries, taking more pictures of himself…

With one man down, Ali and I – intrepid and daring as we are – blew up a kayak using only our iron lungs, paddled up and down the Huron coastline, conquered golden dunes at dizzying heights…

…and then, if it weren’t for shame uh.. pride, we would have begged Jos to come get the kayak and drag it back home for us.

ABBA’s lyrics never rang truer…

After pulling an all-nighter or two (thank you for the mutual late-work-night moral support donkeycito) I was sick as a dog (I’m getting old; can’t pull it off no mo’.)

Barely 2 hours of any sleep and I was at it again. Successfully handed the work in, ran errands, baked cookies, made cadeaux deliveries and caught my lovely ex-roomie Shannon before she headed back to Vancouver.

Thus, saturday was exceptionally shiny and involved all of:

(click on me)

Oh yes, that’s right.
Le brat recently made it here, and is now an official Montreal-dweller too:

Saturday night in the metro. En route for a little taste of Pop Montreal à la solo.

Finally doing something with this city so alive beneath my feet.

(Had me a little Beirut and Akron/Family and We Were Born Ruffians. And just to completely spoil my fresh-and-pipin’ hot!- sesame bagels and salmon spread dinner late on Sunday night, I also gorged on some Sunset Rubdown.)

Find us on youtube. Pass it around, favourite and rate the hell out of it.

The world will be a better place.

(btw.. if this doesn’t read like michelle, it’s cuz it’s not. She asked me to write this for her. To get all you readers to rate our videos. So this post was written by rob for michichelle)

Mate (MAH-té)

mardi, 29 août, 2006

2 – days behind schedule

8 – large black garbage bags

3 – trips to the goodwill

3 – years spent in this place

25 – years (minus one day) worth of stuff with me

65 or so – accumulated hours of sleep debt

1 – meal a day

7 and 1/2 – hours my Mom drove to come help me

Only dreams of Montreal and gourds full of mate (my life blood at this point) are keeping me going.

Sooooooo close!
